My relatives, like many Italian immigrants from New York City, eventually settled in San Francisco, drawn by fishing opportunities and a close-knit community. I grew up visiting Santa Rosa, where my nanny lived, and my mom’s childhood home in Bolinas—a quiet, secluded town. Califonia is full of moments that I will hold onto forever.
